News Reporting Before/Soon After April 24, 1915 Armenian Intellectual Deportation

American and London newspapers reported on Armenian massacres in the weeks prior to and soon after the April 24, 1915 deportation of Armenian intellectuals of the Ottoman capital, Constantinople (today Istanbul), and later other locations. These arrests and deportations amounted to 2,345. With the adoption of the Tehcir Law on 29 May 1915, these detainees were later relocated within the Ottoman Empire and most of them were ultimately killed.
